Carolyn Helbling is a British and Swiss national who joined the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce as Managing Director in January 2008. A graduate of London University, Carolyn has spent a large part of her career working internationally. Having commenced her career with an American management consultancy for whom she set up an office in Germany, Carolyn moved to Switzerland in 1989 to join leading reinsurance company, Swiss Re. Over a period of nearly 20 years, Carolyn Helbling held a number of positions including Corporate Risks Underwriter and Client Manager for a number of Fortune 500 companies. Promoted to Managing Director whilst running the Corporate Risks office in New York in 1997, Carolyn returned to Zurich end 1999 where she took over as Head of Group Marketing Communications. After redesigning the corporate website and introducing a new branding and advertising campaign, Carolyn's final position with Swiss Re was as strategic HR adviser to the Executive Committee on succession planning across the group.
 
Carolyn is an alumna of both Harvard Business School and London University.
