Training Commission
COBCOE understands how challenging, as well as motivating, it is being a director of a bilateral chamber of commerce, whatever the size. Recruiting and retaining members, organising useful and exciting events, monitoring political issues as they affect international commerce, liaising with the press and generally managing and directing all aspects of their Chamber’s activities as well as personnel delivering the services are all roles that fall to the directors and their teams. Whilst some national organisations receive assistance and training from their Central Governments to do this, COBCOE and its member chambers do not receive such support.
Accordingly, COBCOE has established a Training Commission, which is run by a member of the COBCOE Executive with the objective of helping member chamber directors and officers to deliver quality services to their members.
The Commission provides:
- Practical training (including an annual director’s training seminar in London)
- Best Practice guides
- Information & knowledge exchange
- Regional training initiatives and exchange visits
