Founded in 1945, the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce is an independent organisation, run by its members for its members, focusing on helping British and Greek companies and individuals increase their interests, as well as offering a very prominent business and social calendar.

The Chamber holds a deserved reputation for organising first-class networking events and is known as one of the most vibrant business organisations in Athens and Thessaloniki. It has a broad and diverse membership and the Board of Directors understands only too well that the interests of all businesses are not identical. The Board hopes that the events organised will enable members to make new contacts and build business networks – the importance of facilitating and encouraging interaction between members is one of our prime objectives.

All businesses, whether small or large, are facing ever-increasing demands. The challenge is in maintaining a competitive edge in the marketplace. The Chamber is there to help its members keep that edge and to find business partners or alliances.

There is a clear recognition of the opportunities that companies with a base in Greece have for expansion into the Balkans. With the economic power of being a member of the EU, combined with its historical ties with the Balkans, Greece enjoys a uniquely favourable position in the region.

We continue to ensure that the interests of business are clearly heard. To this end we have maintained good relations at all levels of government inviting ministers to many events, enabling members to impress upon them face to face the needs of their businesses.

The Chamber has a very active website, and produces a high-quality, annual Directory of Members and quarterly ‘BH magazine’ – all business tools that provide member companies and advertisers with the perfect medium to share and communicate information.

With a board of directors of 15 leading Greek and British business executives, representing a cross-section of top industrial and commercial enterprises, together with a dedicated and enthusiastic staff, the British Hellenic Chamber of Commerce is well set to continue promoting British–Hellenic co-operation into the 21st century.
