The British Romanian Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1998, is a not for profit organisation, owned by its membership, with the mission to use its good offices and activities to increase British-Romanian trade and investment. Its activities include co-operation with governmental and non-governmental organisations in both countries, including trade associations and other specialised bodies.

The Chamber’s objectives are to support, promote and defend the membership’s interests by communicating their needs to Government (s) and the media by means of lobbying, publicity and other activities conducive to improvement of the business climate in the UK and Romania.

Other activities include organising chamber events, trade missions to Romania and from Romania, editing regular newsletters and other periodicals, providing an information service, ensuring representation and participation at all relevant events and conferences, translation facilities and language for business courses, providing primary practical export and import advice, and many more.
Membership of the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce is open to UK and other companies with existing and potential interests in the region and to Romanian Companies, particularly those with long-standing trading and investment links with the UK.

Our Chamber is an organisation that that has taken bilateralism as its raison d’être. We strive to serve both the British and the Romanian business communities involved in trade and investment between the two countries, indeed, between these two and the wider world. Furthermore, we do not confine our efforts just to the narrower field of economic relations, but in the certitude that the path to strengthening such ties also depends on a better knowledge and understanding of the two nations, we also become involved in cultural and charitable activities that may not at a first glance be directly linked to our main object of activity.

Since its foundation almost 10 years ago, the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce has taken a leading role in supporting both Romania & the UK in these common goals.
With ever improving services, an increasingly active branch in Bucharest and a steady increase in membership numbers, the Chamber has been able to develop its strategy for the future and plan beyond the notable date of 2007 when it is hoped that Romania will finally accede to the European Union.
