LIVERPOOL | COBCOE | 'We need to talk about... the Global Future of Business'
A one-day conference to help businesses plan for the future. The aim is to provide a new understanding of the big picture with insights from senior government and business representatives.
Change is coming, and every business needs to prepare. The pattern of international trade is being re-drawn, the geopolitical landscape is shifting, and ever more disruptive technologies are on the way.
COBCOE, the unique not-for-profit membership organisation for British chambers of commerce and business associations in Europe, representing a pan-European business network of around 12,000 businesses in more than 30 countries is very well placed to be organising this major event on the opening day of the International Business Festival in Liverpool.
What is the conference about?
We all benefit from international trade. It's vital to the global economy and the prosperity of all nations. To make this vital trade happen, we rely on businesses of all sizes. Whether through suppliers, contractors, customers or distributors, every business is affected by international trade, as is every consumer.
Momentous changes are now taking place. And with uncertainty over Brexit, it has become more difficult than ever for businesses to make plans to ensure continuity, growth and development. We do know that there will be challenges and opportunities for businesses of all kinds, but where will they come from?
This one-day conference aims to help businesses plan for a prosperous future, to give you a new understanding of what the future holds and provide new insights from an entirely business driven perspective.
Business leaders and European government representatives will discuss how in their view Brexit can be a catalyst for change, its impact on the European economy and its competitiveness. How business can prepare for inevitable change and take advantage of networks and new technology driving international trade irrespective of borders or barriers.
Whether or not Brexit causes a seismic shift in the UK’s trading relationships, UK and European businesses will still need to compete in fast-changing global markets and we'll explore how this can be done with our colleagues from continental Europe. Panels will analyse the so called emerging powerhouse of Europe; the CEE region, explore how global changes will impact the way we work, our supply chains and trade strategies, and explore how UK FDI drivers can continue to be competitive in such a dynamic, fast evolving increasingly competitive landscape.
The conference will also provide an opportunity for businesses to network with their international counterparts, who will be attending from across the COBCOE network and beyond.
Programme is subject to change and available here.
