Business Stortford has been set up by Bishop's Stortford Chamber of Commerce to showcase the town's unique location and encourage companies to relocate or expand their operations in the area.

Nearby  Stansted Airport serves more European destinations than anywhere else in the UK and is the UK's largest freight airport.  Combined with the fast rail and road links to London, Cambridge and beyond, there is much to attract companies to Bishop's Stortford.

The area sits at the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge-London ‘Golden Research Triangle’ and hosts several pockets of excellence - information technology; bioscience, life sciences and pharmaceuticals; creative industries and advanced manufacturing and engineering.  In fact Bishop's Stortford is located in a life sciences cluster which is reported to be the largest outside the US.

Business Stortford has set up a Welcome Programme designed to fast-track a company's relocation or expansion to Bishop's Stortford.  Town Ambassadors have been appointed to host overseas visitors, give a free bespoke VIP tour and provide guidance about setting up business in the town.

Business Stortford is targeting European businesses seeking a base in the UK, international companies wanting a well-connected location in Europe and UK firms looking for first-class transport links to Europe. The initiative is backed by Bishop's Stortford Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Hertfordshire Local Economic Partnership.
