Prince Michael of Kent to visit Finland with UK trade delegation

His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent will visit Finland from 25 to 28 September at the invitation of the British and Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland (B3CF) with a businesss delegation from the UK

Prince Michael of Kent and The QueenPrince Michael of Kent GCVO KStJ is joining the visit as Patron of the Genesis Initiative to promote trade and investment between Finland and the UK, and within the Commonwealth. The delegation will focus on the sectors of energy, oil and gas, marine, ICT, cleantech, education and healthcare.

A first cousin of Her Majesty The Queen, Prince Michael of Kent is a grandson of King George V and Queen Mary. When not engaged in royal duties, he manages his own consultancy business and carries out commercial work around the world. 

 

Trade delegation programme

Monday 25 September

The programme begins with a Finland-UK trade round table at Kaikko Manor, Porvoo, followed by a Genesis Initiative Dinner. Delegates stay at Hiakko Manor.

Tuesday 26 September

Delegates visit businesses in Helsinki, followed by a trade and investment brunch and a visit to the Research and Innovations Centre at Aalot University, Espoo (TBC). A B3CF Patrons' Dinner will take place at Noormarkku, Pori, attended by HRH Prince Michael of Kent, ambassadors to Finland, B3CF Patrons and senior figures from the Commonwealth and the worlds of politics, civil society, business and sport. Delegates stay at Noormarkku.

Wednesday 27 September

The delegation visits Tampere to meet local businesses. (Further details to be confirmed.)The overnight stay will by at the F6 Hotel in Helsinki.

The participation cost for delegates is £2,000 + VAT including three nights' accommodation, meals, access to all events and transportation. Flights are not included.
